I own a 2008 GMC 2500HD with the 6.6l Duramax engine. During a trip last week I had a tire issue with the trailer I was towing. When it was time to leave the tire shop. I started the truck and it died when I put it in gear. When I tried to restart the truck the engine was acting like it wasn't getting fuel. The tire shop tech plugged in their OBD reader to see what he could find. There were no codes so he checked the batteries and electrical connections. After an hour of checking and trying to start the engine, he said he removed and cleaned the fuse for the fuel pump. Afterwards the truck started. I took the truck to the local GMC dealership. Their tech did a complete diagnostic check on the fuel system. Again no codes, fuel pressure is within specs, and he could not get the engine to repeat the issue. He noted that the fuse that was cleaned was actually for the engine crank sensor relay. The truck is running great as usual, runs smooth, plenty of power, and it starts fine. Any ideas on what caused this inconvenient issue?
