Hello all-
First time posting here so thanks for the invite. Here is my issue I'm hoping to get some help with.
Trying to replace the fuel pump on my 96 K1500 Suburban 4X4 5.7 with 226k miles. Has been a great truck but recently it will crank but won't fire. Hit the tank in the middle and it fires right up. No issues for about a week and now no fuel gauge and cranks but won't start again. I also do not hear the pump kick in when I turn the key. Also replaced the fuel relay so now onto the pump and sender assembly.
Drained most of the tank, had to cut the strap bolts (pia), tank was stuck so had to pry it loose, got the wire harness disconnected but no way in hell I can break loose the ground screw. Just about broke my hand on the one good bite I had with a wrench.
So... My question is whether or not their is an easier way to get to the bolt while laying on the ground or should I snip the ground wire and ground it somewhere else. If I ground it somewhere else do you have any recommendations where?
Thanks so much!!
