fuel pump voltage for a 1997 v6 gmc sierra?

i have a 1997 gmc truck w/a v6. it will not start at all and the fuel pump is not turning on. How many volts should i have at the pump? when the ignition is on I have 6 volts. Is that right or should i have 12 volts. If i should have 12 volts does anyone have a wiring diagram for it. Thanks for any informatio

You should have 12 Volts, to your fuel pump and pushing 62 to 65 PSI at the shredder valve to have the fuel injectors work. Check your relay and ground wire to your fuel pump. Keep us posted and good luck.
