Fuel Pump

Hi all I am having a hard time finding a straight answer for a question about what fuel pump I need for my 1999 Sierra 1500 5.3. I need to know how to tell if it's equipped with Robust Fuel System and Evaporative Emission System (EVA) Thanks

i have never heard of a ' Robust Fuel System
i thought all systems were' Evaporative Emission System
something my friends have learned the hard way, Don't but a cheap fuel pump or you will be replacing it again in a year
easy way to get to the fuel pump is to tilt the bed side ways like a side dump truck
unbolt the bed, put some padding between the bumper n the bed, also between the cab n bed
have a saw n some length of 2 x 4 ready
left the bed on the drivers side of the truck when you get it high enough cut the 2 x 4 to length needed to put between the bed n the ground to hold it there

so i googled ' Robust Fuel System
on my '98 seirra it was a one piece complete unit (sending unit and pump) when i replaced it
if n when you replace the unit lube/oil the o-ring liberally
mine didn't seal the first time i had to lift the bed again and reseat the unit and it sealed

Thanks for the info 98trck I never thought of doing it that way. In the past I've always just dropped the tank, but your way sounds easier. You say not to by a cheap pump, what would be an example of a good pump? Thanks
