Just bought a 2010 Canyon SLE 2.9 4x4. I had read the estimated gas mileage reviews and they all said 18-21 city, and 25 Highway. I drive very conservetally, and all I can get is 15 mpg. Is this standard or can there be something wrong . It drives very nicely. Plenty of power, smooth idle. I read that maybe thermostat could be running cold but temp gauge is almost at halfway. Another advice was to reset the ECM by pulling the fuse, but I do not see that fuse. Any help will be appreciated.

I read in an article (how to improve gmc fuel economy) that a Canyon's fuel economy will drop 3 to 4 mpg when you do more city driving instead of highway driving, so you can expect 15-18mpg in the city and 20-25 on the highway. You can check it out here. Some practical ways to increase fuel efficiency would be to avoid idling too long, keeping your tire pressure in optimum level, and using cruise control to maintain constant speed (it burns less fuel).

I have 2016 V6 2x4 SLE. Overall avg 22.5 mpg. 13,000 miles. Very pleased.

My 2015 SLT V6 during summer months gives an average mileage of 24.9, on trips to Texas I have pulled as much as 28 to a tank and that is with two of us sharing the driving and max speed limits of 75-80 in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, N. mexico and finally Texas. Varied driving from mountains to the flats of W. texas. In the winter it has hovered around 22.5 mpg but we have had snow since the first of Nov.
