gmc envoy starting issues

i have a 2002 gmc envoy and i ran into a frustrating issue.here it is,a few days ago my envoy stopped starting for me i checked utube and did the basic checks and changes like the ignition relay and switch,had the starter checked and its good i think its a security issue but im not sure i got it started by turning the key forward in the crank position and holding it there for about five minutes but that solution wouldnt last long so if anyone have any answers please reply i really need help!

Hey I had somewhat the same issue. I bypassed today and it would still shut down when trying to go in gear. Thinking it was a security issue but in the end it did end up being the ignition switch. I took it out because I also would hold the key or turn it back and forth quick. So this made me take out the switch and when I opened the switch the "run" position switch plate was kind of black. Switched the switch and its running fine again.
