GMC Jimmy without door handles?

i was lookin for older trucks an stuff today, and came across a GMC Jimmy(not sure what year, but it was older) and it did not have door handles, everything on it looked pretty much like stock parts, but the doors had no handles on the outside. why is that/how do you even open it

Shaved handles are a custom touch that has become kind of standard for many modified vehicles (try reading truckin' and finding a feature ride with handles). The normal method for opening is an alarm system. Not the most practical for daily drivers, with no mechanical mechanism for entry.
