Gmc sonoma 1995steering column

Hi everyone,
I have a 95 Gmc Sonoma, 2 wheel drive, floor shift standard, no tilt wheel, no cruise control, has wiper delay. The steering column needs to be replaced. Will a 1997 gmc sonoma column with same features work? Thanks

why are you replacing the column?

The previous owner lost the key and broke the ignition lock and pulled wires to hot wire the truck. He destroyed the upper part of the column.

Suggestions on what you can do -

pull yours and lay it next to other one and see if they
match up ( assuming you're getting it from junkyard )
note - maybe other model GMs from that year are the same ?

find a place that sells columns ( GM dealership parts dept.? )
and see if the part number is the same.
