I have a 99 GMC Sonoma and I understand that Sonomas and s10s are very similar(just got a new tailgate thats says chevy) so i was wondering if i just wanted to convert my sonoma to an s10 can i do that? The grille and lights are different but can i buy an s10 grill and fit?? Please answer only if you really know not telling me something I already know lol thanks

Yes, you can mix and match Sonoma and S10 parts. The Isuzu Hombre is the same truck, too. You could even put an Olds Bravada grille on your GMC. Some Sonomas use a slightly different hood from the others. It's a little depressed in the middle, where the others are flat. You might need to use the headlights from the truck where you got the grille. S-series trucks are the best!

Hood is different, but they both are interchangeable, I've seen S10's with Sonoma hoods and vise versa.

Core support may be different as well to accomodate the different grille... I know they changed between 97 and 98 (new front end styling) but I'm not sure if they're the same between the Chev and GMC. Best thing to do is call the Dealer and compare part numbers.

You'll need the bumper and valence off the S10 because the grille won't fit with the Sonoma bumper, the top is "higher" than the Chev.

Besides that it should be plug and play.
