Well after some work on my part, my wife gave me the go-ahead on a craigslist find. 1982 GMC Suburban 4x4 with a 4" BDS lift and 35" tires. Dark metallic purple, body is in decent shape. I'll have to sand down some surface rust and repair it, but other than that seems pretty good.
The down side currently is the way the engine is running. They said it was rough due to a couple bad plugs that never got replaced. So today i replaced all of them, completely pulled off the rotting exhaust system from behind the long tube headers. Sounds like a beast now and its running better, but still rough.
I'm thinking that it might be the carburetor. Looks like a rebuilt original Quadrajet. I have no experience with the Q-Jet and am strongly considering swapping in a new carb when the budget allows. But, in the meantime, does anyone have any info on how to work with the Quadrajet?
