I have a 97 Sonoma V4 five speed manual with 200k+. Runs like a charm, but I get a weird grinding/vibrating noise when the heater fan is on and I turn right. Only when I turn right, for some reason. Maybe the heater fan is dying? Except why only when I turn right? It does make the same noise occasionally when the fan starts, then goes away most of the time. Still, the right turn thing is odd. Any ideas? I know... it's a weird one.

Not odd, the bearing is worn out on the blower motor, so every time you make the right turn. The squirrel cage "fan" will lean towards one side casing it to hit against the fan assembly. Only fix is to replace the unit before next winter.

Thank you!

Thanks so much for the speedy reply. I was thinking along those same lines, but I couldn't figure out why it only happens when turning right. Makes sense! Again, I really appreciate you taking the time to reply -- and so quickly! Thanks!
