I have a 95 sierra 350 4x4 shortbed. When starting out it grinds and in shifting from first to second. If I let off the gas when it is shifting it doesn't seem to grind. I replaced the tranny 15 months ago with a rebuilt unit, and the front transfer case with a used unit. Mileage is 202K. What would cause this grinding?

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Taking a guess without knowing more, its common for the sunshell to fracture on the 4L60E transmission which sounds like what you may have. Have a transmission shop test drive it and they can confirm if its the sunshell or something else.

Try not to drive the sierra to hard incase it is the sunshell to keep further damages from happening.
