about a month ago My 99 burb slt 7.4 Hydra-locked . Happened on near start up so got lots of water in pan from intake manifold gasket that leaked(Intake was nearly rotted out on back ports. So much so it showed a 1/4 inch deep profile around the gasket.) I had this done about 18 months ago and the Maniac that did it said it was okay and that was like a freeze plug back there. LOL. Anyway I took it to a machine shop in Queen Creek az that welded the parts up and decked them like new. Now then if you have not read the dexcool Law suit you need to. Get it out of the car if you have it in there. GM Lawyers admitted that Dexcool eats the Plastic Gasket and will eat into aluminum. Anywhooo..I got everything back together drained the oil first by the way and let the pan sit open for a week in the AZ 112 heat. Then caped it new filter and added oil with a half can of seafoam. Went to start and gas just poured out the back down the tranny. LOL rotted fuel line. Explained my smell of gas the last month or so. Have it at Napa being rebuilt. Real pain in the butt
getting those fuel lines out on a 7.4 Vortec. Anyway when I do get it put back in I will let idle to operating temp. Drain oil and change filter. Add more oil with some seafoam and some rislone ring sealer and drive for 50 miles or so and change again. Then put Mobile one in and see how she does. What do you guys think? Maybe another oil change before the mobile one? I have always used syn and there are no leaks and she does not burn oil. Just turned 130 grand.
