So, does "in front of the radiator" mean 1) on the front bumper side of the radiator or 2) on the engine side of radiator? Is it a mechanical clutch fan or an electric? I've never seen an A/C fan (not saying they don't exist) just thinking that maybe you're asking about an engine fan. Your question could have been made with more clarity. I don't own a 2500 and don't know the fan arrangement.

A/c fan

It's between the condenser and the grill, right side of radiator---when the a/c is turned on the fan starts up to give the engine extra cooling and cool the condenser , --i think that's how it works. ---thank you for taking the time to answer my question---i thought all a/c equipped vehicles had a a/c cooling fan up front.

you're welcome. So we're talkin electric fans. You're right, it should spin freely. Trace the wires from the fan motor to find the electric disconnect plug. The fan shroud (the whole fan assembly ) is typically attached with 4 bolts, 1 in each corner. After removing the assembly, you'll find 2 or 4 nuts/bolts holding the motor in place. You'll most probably have to remove the fan blade from the motor shaft, but before doing so, mark its position on the shaft, so you know how far it's supposed to slide on. It's normally attached with a speed nut ( a cheap, crummy, one use nut). But if you carefully twist and wiggle it off with needle nose pliers , you can reuse it
