Headlight Bulbs

I bought some 9006 low beam headlight bulbs. I didn't realize until I got home that they were 100 watts. Other than the obviou,s being too bright, will they do any damage to my headlight like maybe melt the inside of the lens maybe?

Will not burn the lens, but will burn the wire harness or clip to the bulb from the harness. 100 watt bulbs call for a higher amp and amp produces heat, it's more common for the wire harness clip at the bulb to melt and soon there will not be a good connection and at worst a burnt wire harness that ends up being a short.
