Hope, when your using the high beams. Only the high beam bulbs are on and the low beam lights go off. There are aftermarket kits that you can install that when you do use your high beams, your low beams stay on.

The previous owner may have done this witch is great in one way for giving you more light, but it also draws lots of amp and your battery may not get enough charge if your running everything and also heat up your alternator causing the rectifier to fail after a while if your on your high beams for long durations at a time.
