After wrestling with p0304 for a while i found that there was a valve not seating properly...there was a hesitation under load and i was hoping that would go away after we swapped the heads, but it did't....misfire is gone. the good news. but still runs like the piece of garbage that it is. i am working on it, as a favor to a good friend who is falling on hard times, for free. he has a family that needs to get around...i got it running right and it will run fine in default warm up condition...to aquire this i disconnected maf sensor, as i knew that would throw a dtc and run in default.

when plugged in it runs way too rich. and backfires out throttle and fouls out plugs. with cel on it runs like new...any input is appreciated. not throwing any codes w/ maf connected. i am at a loss and would hate to tell him to run it rough when it needs a inspection and disconnect when he leaves the inspection shop but every weekend for the past month has gone to diagnosing this thing without buying any parts and only buying the parts i needed...help me please.
 
that is what i told him today...i have a code reader but no data reader...it would not be practical or cost effective for me to look at this further. we got the waterpump to stop leaking and fixed the mis-fire. but the hesitation in it will not be resolved by slingin parts on it. It would be cheaper to pay diagnostic fees to a dealership than throwin parts. i don't just buy parts...i made it to the misfire diagnosis without buyin a spider injector or cap and rotor....i wonder how many of those have been bought for diagnostic purposed. when the issue is resolved, i will post. i suspect the maf but who knows.
