I own a 2009 Sierra and noticed the other morning when I started it that there was a puff of smoke that came out from the exhaust. A male friend of mine came over yesterday and I asked him to look at my truck, he checked the oil and it was down a quart and He started it and a lot of smoke came out of the exhaust. I made an appointment for tomorrow morning to have it checked out. I am so worried about this....it doesn't sound good. Does anyone have an idea on what might be wrong?

Second question. Where do I find out about my warranties? I moved since I purchased the truck and of course I can't find anything.

Thank you, for taking the time to read this and Hopefully help.;)

Well it sounds like you're well on your way to getting the issue fixed already by getting the vehicle to the dealership. Your warranties on a 2009 GMC Sierra in the US would be 3 years or 36,000 miles for the bumper to bumper warranty and 5 years or 100,000 miles for the powertrain warranty. These two warranties are the main two warranties that would cover your vehicle under normal circumstances. You can also ask about your warranty at the dealership as well. I hope this informaiton helps you. If you run into problems feel free to contact me.
