Hey guys, new member here, I have been looking around the site and other sites for resolution on a problem with my truck. Starting a year ago one morning i was driving my truck and it started loosing power and the ses light came on and started flashing, I slowed down and it stopped flashing and I babied it untill i got home. I ended up replacing the spark plugs (acdelco Platinum), wires (acdelco), and the fuel filter (wix). After replacing the fuel filter the problem went away and never came back up. The code being thrown was a P0307 or P0300

A month ago we got our first snow and some below freezing temps and ever since then I have had the same issue. I check all the plugs (none were fouled), Checked the wires and none were damaged and ran some seafoam through the brake booster and the fuel tank. I cleared the code and about a week later it came back. So then i swapped plug wire and coil from one cylinder to another and it took another week (the next time in the low 30's temp) for the code to show back up. Next I pulled cylinder 7 injector and it looked fine but i found them cheap on amazon so i went ahead and replaced all 8 injectors. (delphi brand)

That was last Monday, today i started my truck up to warm it up (26F outside) and when i got in it my ses was on. I also noticed the exhaust seemed to be alternating each cycle like if you put your hand infront of it it would hit your hand and then no air coming out and then another puff of air hits your hand. I have not checked to see what this code is but its acting the same as before. MAF and throttle body have been cleaned. Any Ideas?

I tested the compression in each cylinder today, they were all around 170-180 psi. So all that i can think to look at is Cats, o2 sensors, computer, exhaust valve burnt or intake manifold leaking where i cannot spray it with carb cleaner. The only code being thrown is p0307 now and it only happens when around freezing or below outside when first starting the truck. Any ideas anyone??

.

i had a similar prob and truck goes into a mode where you can only go about 20mph....it was new.....left it at the dealer and after a few days they found out it was a "fuel sensor"?? i think they called it. it was back by the fuel tank. inclement weather is bad for it....they now have covers on them. mine also was a '09.
hope that helps....if i got the name wrong for "fuel sensor" some1 plz correct me...
