Okay I have a six inch split in the fuel line of my suburban (its just a farm truck) so we'll try to fix it ourselves since the mechanic wants like 600+ to fix it. I need to know the right way to depressurize the fuel line. The manual says to just unscrew the gas cap and while the pressure will be released, the fuel remaining in the lines will have to be drained. However I feel that the fuel in the lines is Still pressurized and I do not want to end up covered in gas while under my truck. Do I pull out the fuel pump fuse relay while its running? or is there a release valve somewhere in the line that I am not aware about? thanks for any advice in advance.
Thanks for your help. Even with a split the truck runs fine (surprisingly) just pisses gas everywhere (real safe...hint of sarcasm) we obviously turned truck off and removed gas cap and disconnected neg battery terminal, but when removing the line the gas was still pressurized as it pissed out, not just the remaining gas in the line pouring out. Thats why i'm inquiring about pressure. Will look for thisw bleedr valve and try the relay.
