how do i set the timing on my 1990 gmc sonoma 2.8 litre v6?

the number one and number four piston are set tdc the ignition module has been changed on my distributor and my rotor button is facing number 1 its not 180 out so why is it not firing right i have spark and fuel and great compression help please
