Start with check the wire harness at the frame. Look for any corrosion or break in the wire leads from the frame to the fuel pump on top of the gas tank. At worst, it your fuel sending unit "fuel pump" that has gone bad. Fuel pump still works which is a good thing, start with the wire harness and replace if needed. Good luck and hope this helps.
