i Need Help People I Have A
2008 Gmc Sierra 2wd Extra Cab Short Bed 4.8
This Truck Has No Power At All Very Diapointed In The Motor
This Truck Is Pretty Much Stock Besides A Full Volant Intake And
A Medium Sized Magnaflow..I Just Recently Put A Superchip Flashpaq In This Truck And It Was Pretty Much A Waste Of Money But Dont Get Me Wrong It Help The Shifts A Lil But Not What They Say It Does ...
Im Trying To Stay Up With My Buddies Trucks On The Track Or Street....
There Trucks In The Quator Mile 14.5-14.8
In My Case 17.0 Im Embarssed To Even Go Back To Track Again
I Need Help With What To Do To Help Me Stay In The Bracket With My friends Or Even Just Come Close

I Was Told My Gears Are My Main Problem They Are 3.42 I Belive 1st Gear 52-54mph 2nd Gear 100-102Mph
From 35 TO 55 I Can Hang With Them And Then After I Shift From 1st To 2nd They Are Gone
But On FreeWay from 75 To 110 I Come Very Close To Winning....

Is This True Can Gears Really Make That Kind Of Differnce Like Everybody Is Saying???
People Are Telling Me To Go To A 3.73 Gear Ratio But I Been Reading And Some People Say For Performance Go With 4.10'S....What Should I Do???.....

Also I Wanted To Ask Im Thinking About Puting A ...Cam...Whats A Good CAM That Wont Leave Me Broke???
Also I Was Thinking Headers...What Headers Should I Go With That Also Wont Leave Me Broke.....
What Should I Be Prepaired To Pay For These Things....

What Should I Do To This Truck That Will Help And Not Break The Bank Please Leave Comments
If Im In The Wrong State Of Mind With These Parts Please Let Me Know

Also Just To Let You Guys Know
This Truck Has Stock Wheels And Tires
And A 2'' Drop Shackle In Back

What Intake Suites This Truck Well And Am I Wasteing Time With Superchip Or Is There Any Others I Should Look At...

If you want HP the 4.8L and the 5.3L are not the engines to buy. You want the 6.2L engine, 400+ hp. You are going to waste a lot of money trying to boost HP on the 4.8 but you will be disappointed in the end and have a lot less money to spend on the more gas the more HP requires..

The sales literature for cold air intakes brag about an horsepower increase. But if you look at the fine print, you’ll see that they don’t achieve that increase until the engine is screaming at over 5000 RPM, red line. So how often will you be driving over 5,000 rpm?

Its all hype, promise more hp and people will spend 100's of $ for it.
