When I start my truck, it usually will fire up fine, after about a second or two it will bog down and sound like it is going to die, but then kick back up and sound normal. If I rev it up while still in park it revs up and idles back down quickly, and sounds like you would expect it to. When I put it in reverse it acts normally and accelerates fine, when I switch to drive it is also fine. It is fine until I get out on to the road, and I go to accelerate into traffic. It will rev fine till about 20, then bog down alot... I can either back off the gas and goose it up, or petal to the metal it and it will pick up after a few seconds of bogging down.
This situation started just a handful of months ago, and seems to be getting progressively worse every day. I have a couple of ideas what it might be, but I'd like to get some advice from people who know more about this kind of stuff than I do (I'm a computer guy, not a mechanic lol)
Thanks for any ideas/tips you can give.
