i want to build a prerunner.

ive found fenders, and i know how to make a cage. already know what i want to do to the engine and trans and diff, how to make her lightweight and sturdy. the only issue im having is HOW FEW PEOPLE will actually build a full size prerunner. its impossible to find parts, even plans for the idea of a prerunner suburban.

so far the only thing ive seen is a silver 80s suburban with a 496 in it. i want mine to be a small block, but im putting a 4 bolt main in. my main concern right now though, is how the hell im gonna drastically increase suspension travel, while still maintaining a moderately low profile. i do all my own welding, major chassis modification is my goal. i do not intend to make this an easy project. i need anything right now to give me an idea what people have done. a link to some pictures of how people set up their suspension, a story of how you (or your buddy) did it, anything would help right now. i plan to keep her around 5/5500 lbs, i still want some kind of a practical vehicle, but i do plan on frequent airborn experiences.

Google "prerunner suspension" and click on images. The first few pictures are close ups of the suspension and can give you an idea of how you can do the same to your Sub. Not commonly done so I see custom work in your future. You should definitely post some pics of the transformation once you get it underway!
