Infotainment DVD - How to activate

I just acquired a 2014 Acadia Denali with the dual headrest DVDs. I would like to be able to view a DVD while in park on the infotainment center screen. The DVD selection button on the screen is not active and when I insert the DVD I get a read error. CDs play fine. I am thinking that since my vehicle has the headrest DVD players, that the infotainment DVD selection was disabled from the factory. Do any of you know if this is correct? If so, how can I program the unit to allow the DVD to be active?

Hey I just bought a 13 acadia denali having same issues with DVD not playing coming up disk read error just the same I haven't looked into it much yet im thinking of taking mine to a chevy dealership to see if they can help me out if I have any luck ill message you
