We have had a problem that has been getting worse over the last 3 months. We have a 2004 GMC Sierra 3500. At first it would fail to crank once in a while but after trying to start it a few times it would crank and start. The instrument cluster will light up and move, the headlights work, dome light works. Just won’t crank. We have checked the battery, fuses, relays, and replaced the ignition starter switch in the column. When we replaced that switch it started fine for 15 to 20 starts then it would fail to crank….. It has started a few times since, but now it won’t even power the gauge cluster anymore. Headlights work, radio works, dome light works, but now no gauge movement and no crank. We have checked it for trouble codes, but there are none. I’m out of ideas…. Can anybody point us in the right direction?
