Tampa 2004 Yukon XL
I'm new to the forum. I own a 2004 GMC Yukon XL that I bought off of a lease back in 2006 with 40k miles. Currently the vehicle has 223k miles. I'm hoping to put on another 200k miles.
I've towed pop up campers, jon boat, and a sail boat.
Recent issues include: vacuum leak resulting in replacing the intake manifold gasket (@ 222K miles); replaced the a/c compressor (@ 216k miles, went two summers here in FL and just couldn't take it any longer and got it fixed). The factory a/c compressor went out at 150K miles. This is the third after market compressor. Replaced the rear main seal at 190K miles. Got tired of constantly checking and filling the oil. The driveway was also getting too spotty (it was like having an untrained dog). Items changed prior to this include the power steering pump (around 140k miles, alternator (@ 170k miles), radiator (@ 201k miles). I'm on my third water pump. I can't remember when the factory one failed, but the first after market one didn't last as long as the factory one. Replaced the factory shocks @ 195k miles.
About a year ago I had the vehicle painted. For about three or four years I had the white "splotches" on the hood and the roof. The factory color is the metallic dark forest green. Got the mid-grade paint job at MAACO. I've been happy so far. The guy at MAACO recommended using carnauba was twice a year.
The third row seats were removed 2 years ago and I keep the second row seats in the down position. Makes it easier when hauling lumber from Home Depot or just moving stuff.
Look forward to participating in the forum and learning.
