Reviews of the Acadia/Outlook/Traverse/Onclave do not evaluate the abilities of these large CUVs to handle harsh snow. I'll be moving to Timmins, ON, Canada where winters are quite harsh and wanted to get ready for it this year. Once equipped with snow tyres, would the Acadia be able to handle snow? It does not have a 4x4 system, just FWD or an AWD. Any members who owned these during winters, your feedback would be most appreciated.

I always order AWD or 4 wheel drive on all my vehicles. You will need it one day.

Tires are the biggest factor in how a vehicle will handle in snow and ice. the Acadia's 18 and 19" wheels do not offer many options when shopping for winter or even goo all-season tires. The traction and stability control help a great deal. AWD is a boon to winter driving, although it 'feels' different from the AWD the my Chev Astro minivan had - it was primarily a RWD, compared to the Acadias primary FWD.
