Hi, All.

I checked for responses after posting a question regarding hot parking brakes on a 1999 Jimmy. Two hundred thirty views, zero replies. Seriously?

Just for fun I looked at the first page of displayed threads in this forum. There were 20 threads, with a grand total of 25,856 views and a whopping 20 (yes, twenty) responses -- a response rate of 0.035 percent. And several of those "responses" were from the posters themselves, following up on their own original questions!

I checked all 20 responses, and didn't see any -- NOT ONE -- that appeared to be helpful to the persons asking for help. That's zero help from over 25,000 views. It would seem that those who view the threads are unable or unwilling (or both) to help out their fellow forum members.

Having seen forums that actually work (those at yesterdaystractors.com, for example), I must say I'm very disappointed in this one.

I sincerely wish everyone here all the best. As for myself, I'm going hunting for a Jimmy forum.

I wouldn't say useless. I agree that a lot of posts don't get answers or help, but I do try to offer help / suggestions when I can. I think the biggest problem with this forum is people join to get an answer to one question and then never come back.

I do have to agree that some other forums are followed much more closely by it's members.

I also think that a fair number of people, myself included, were getting tired of the "GMC representatives" that would try to follow up with people, but never actually provided any info. They would "private message", but when all was said and done they really didn't help or do anything other than "document your issue". I haven't seen any posts from the reps lately, so they may have pulled back themselves. I appreciated their interest in trying to get my issue resolved, but in the end I was left with taking it back to the dealer for them to check the vehicle again. I just gave up.

Maybe your much better at DIA user viewing treads then repairing vehicles??? Maybe have your vehicles serviced and repaired at shops?

Sorry to hear your disappointed, maybe when and if you get your problem sorted out you can share with the rest of us for future reference. The more info people like you share the better forums become overall, good luck.
