alright, i just got a 1994 gmc jimmy sle, my uncle got it a year ago and started restoring it, we fixed all rotted parts, sanded and painted all rust, and got all fixed up and then got it nice and painted, and then he gave it to me for my 16th birthday, but we had to drop the tank and put in a new fuel pump, and after that, now the sending unit went, and i wanna know if it truely is worth getting a new one and go through the hell of dropping the tank again, or it i think it would be easier to just fill it, run it to empty and then use what mileage i got and keep doing that. but anyway, i wanted to know, if it is possible to update the instrument cluster, to somethinga little new and more accurate, if anyone knows or has done it themselves, please tell, and i wanted to find a nice brush guard for it, but no one makes them, but i see them on jimmys and blazers, so i wanna know where i could find one for a reasonable price, so if anyone got info, let me know please :)

When you replaced the fuel pump, did you replace the wire harness that runs from the sending unit to the frame??? If not, that is where your issue my bad with your sending unit.

As for you cluster, you can replace it with the digital dash, but that will consist a lot of rewiring for the digital cluster to work.

hey thank you, and yea the cluster was a thought, if it takes alot of work for it, its not bad, just wanted to know if it could be replaced easily, and thanks for the link for the brush guard :)
