I have a 98 sonoma 5 speed 4 cyl. The cylinder lock was getting really bad so I replaced it a few weeks ago. Since replacing it, there is a sweet spot when starting the truck. Usually you turn your key fully thru "start". When I turn key fully, the starter engages, but will not start. But if I turn a quarter inch or so into "start" it will start. Im not sure what step i should take next. I do not have intermittent power loss or stalls. I wondered if the ignition switch needed to be replaced? I have not worked on ignition stuff before, so, any help would be appreciated. Not sure if this has anything to do with the problem i stated, but my reverse lights are not working. I have not done any troubleshooting with the lights yet. Anyways, again, any help would be great. Thanks!
