A while back our lights started to flicker in our Envoy so we took it to the dealer, they told us it was being caused by the alternator. Well it's been a year and a half since it was in for the problem and now it's doing it again. Is it possible that it could be the alternator again? When I called the dealer they told me that they won't cover it since it's been more than a year since "they" replaced it. It seems to only do it between 2500-3000 RPM's. Could this be an alternator issue again or something more in depth? Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like the alternator to me. Take to an auto parts store and they will test it for free.

adanced auto will test it for free, i remember bc i use to work there. i think the alternator was easy to do on my 02xl. deff sounds like an alternator issue but remember that you have a voltage meter on the dash if it is reading around 14 volts your ok. Also keep an eye for the battery light to be on in the back, some alternators also have regulator on the back of them with diodes on them. When you buy the alternator make sure its brand new and not a rebuilt one because remanufactured ones are usually a problem when it comes to diodes.
