It Is true there's no standard aftermarket options right now from the research I've done. If your willing to do the grunt work, best suggestions I would give is to take out the colored red letter inserts and install led light striping in the chrome/black letter edging, and then fill that in with a dark colored epoxy/resin. Haven't done it myself, but that's the only theoretical solution I could think of.
