Loosing all power when coming to a stop?

I have a 2001 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT 5.3L. I have been having problems with loosing all power and the engine shutting down when I come to a stop or to idle. The battery light comes on and I loose all power but then it will start back up after one or two turns of the ignition. I have replaced the fuel filter and the spark plugs since i've owned it. I though that it was tale tale alternator so I replaced that on this past friday. Today was the first day I've drove it much since I replaced the alternator and everything was fine during my first two errands then when I stoped at the store on my last errand it died in the parking lot while it was idleing at park. Then on the way home which was 3 blocks away it died twice but fired back up after turning the ignition and reving the engine a little. This seems to be tale tale alternator to me but now with the brand new one in it, it's doing the exact same thing. Any ideas on what it could be? I'm stumped. Thanks in advance for any help yall can give me.

Start with the simple and have your ICM tested and replace if it's gone bad. Most parts store like NAPA, Parts Source will test free of charge before buying the new ICM.
