Howdy everyone! Nice forum you have here. I have a 1992 gmc suburban c2500 4x2 with a 454 and 4l80e transmission. I have owned this truck for 2 1/2 years now and maybe put 10000 miles on it(at 192000 now). Everything has been working fine until last weekend i went to leave and put my truck into drive and nothing happened. Tried reverse, same thing. I let the truck warm up for about 10 minutes tried it again and away i went. Drove the truck for the next two days with no issues so i didnt think much of it until i went to go to work on tuesday and bam, same thing happened again, nothing. This time it just didnt come back at all. It is like its stuck in neutral. I can put it in neutral and move the truck, put t in park and cant. So i had it towed to a tranny shop. They said it needed rebuilding. I just dont buy that. When i was checking everything over before having it towed everything seemed fine. Fluid is full, nice and pink, no burnt smell or material in it. I changed the external filter(was on the truck when i got it) and didnt notice anything there either. Prior to this happening it was shifting normal, no slipping and at normal rpm ranges. So i am guessing it has to be electrical, like a wire or switch or a sensor. Any ideas? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Thanks
