Symtoms
I have a major electrical problem. I have no rear running lights, no brake lights, no license plate lights and no reverse lights.
- The third top light works when I turn on the lights and step on the brake.
- The turn signal lights work, but flash quickly when I apply the brake.
- The head lights, day time running lights, turn signal lights and parking lights all work correctly at the front of the truck.
- Cruise control shuts off when I use my turn signals.
- Cruise control will not work when head light switch is on
- If I step on the brake before the truck is started, the door buzzer starts buzzing and front parking lights turn on, both shuts off once I start the truck or if I take my foot off the brake pedal.
- When I am driving and step on the brake the dash lights come on, then go off once I take my foot off the brake.

Things I have tried
- Replaced bulbs, fuses, brake light switch and both tail light boards
- I checked the license plate wires with a volt meter and the black ground wire has 12v going to it.
- The brown and white wires have 12v at the harness.
- If I disconnect the white (running light) wire at the rear of the truck my brake lights and turn signal lights work correctly (but no runnig lights), if I re-connect the white wire and disconnect the brown wires, my running lights and turn signal lights work, but no brake lights.
- I have followed the wiring harness all the way up to the front of the truck and could not see any exposed wires that may be sending power to the ground wire.
- I have visually looked at all the wires under the dash and steering collum and nothing looks burnt or shorted out.
- I cut out the rear "T" harness by the trailer hitch and hard wired everything, thinking it may have been a faulty harness issue.
ANY IDEAS? I AM AT A LOSS AND HAVE RUN OUT OF PLACES TO LOOK.
