First find where the leak is coming from the Transfer case and make sure you don't run the transfer case low on fluid. If your transfer case is cracked, just find a used transfer case at the Salvage Yard, and have someone put it in for you or just do it yourself. They are pretty easy.

Disconnect the negative on the battery. Make sure you have a block on one of the tires. Take off both front and rear drivelines, then remove the cover on the 4x4 shifter. Next remove the shift linkage (9/16th) and the vaccum hoses and the electrical connector. Next place a jack under the transmission to support it, and remove the crossmember (15mm). Remove all bolts holding the transfer case to transmission (15mm)except, If you are facing the front of the vehicle, remove the upper right bolt as you go, for you will realize, you cannot remove it all at once. Also, you must drain as much of the fluid out as possible, cause you'll ended up with a lubricated body. Beware, the transfer case is pretty heavy probly about 100lbs, so be careful. Also when the case finally comes out, replace the gasket between the transmission and transfer case with a new one. And remember to get all of the old gasket off, cause just a little bit left on there will cause a leak. Good luck.

Transfer Case,......GLS GM recommends Part No. 88861800 (Canada 88861801)
or equivalent for manual transmission, transfer
case applications.
Capacity: Transfer Case, ..........0.5 liters
