can anyone tell me if i can put a 4 speed manual transmission in my 1995 gmc 1500 it has a 5.0 and had a 5 speed that went out. can i get a 4 speed manual to put in it?

If you don't have the New Venture Gear 4500, commonly called NV4500. PRO code MW3. Yes it is a 5 speed, but it's made to start off in 2nd gear. In shot, the MW3 is a four speed with an extra low gear at 5.61 and the second gear is 3.04.

If your Sierra has a transmission:
Pro code of Wide-ratio MG5. 1st is 4.02 and 2nd is 2.32 and 3rd is 1.40.
Pro code of Close-ratio M50. 1st is 3.49 and 2nd is 2.16 and 3rd is 1.40
Pro code of MW3 Gear ratios; 1st 5.61/ 2nd 3.04/ 3rd 1.67
All transmission has the same 4th gear 1.00 and 5th 0.73

With the gear ratio difference between the 3 types of transmission you can put on your Sierra. The best upgrade would be the MW3 since as mentioned is a 4 speed with an extra low gear.
