Ive got a 5 speed 2001 2500HD, 137k miles with a tough country lift and 35"s. ive been getting this damn squeak on and off for about five months and its driving me bonkers. When the truck is in gear and accelerating- thru all 5 and sometimes in reverse too, ill get this loud high pitched squeak that sounds like a bad drive shaft bearing, but i replaced em all and they are greased up, and when i let off the gas, it immediately goes away. It sounds like its rotating with the drive assembly, but i cant pinpoint its position, whether from up front or to the rear. Mech said i need to replace my pitman and idler pumps...could that be it? I need to find this sucker, its happening more and more often, and it sucks to drive a nice truck that sounds like a jalopy squealing out of the junk yard
