motor swap

ok so im looking to take the L6 out of the truck and replace with v8 im thinking keeping carb motor i want to try and keep trans and rearend. im also not wanting to spend a fortune i got a guy whos gonna charge me a couple hundered to swap it and im kinda wanting to do ok on the fuel mileage.
