Multi function turn signal switch

I have a '95 Jimmy and I'm replacing the the multi function switch with one of a newer model year. The wipers and cruise work fine, but the trunk signal and hazard do not. The there are four extra pins on the new switch compared to the original. Any ideas as to why the signals don't work?

Signals might be ran through the hazard switch from factory...your haz. sw. might be gummed up or fried altogether...clean or replace it before ripping out the whole multifunction switch again. Other than that, we hope you don't fry your rig to the ground with incorrect wiring...just sayin'...!
