Try to take his arm out of the open door area and then try closing the door...
If that doesn't work, it sounds like the door actuator is no longer functioning - i.e. it stays in the closed position. So you might spray some WD-40 in there and then remove the door panel and look for two horizontal thick wire like things. These control locking the door and openning the door. Then you would slide/pull-on the "wires" and see if you can free the door actuator that is apparently stuck in the locked position. These wires snap into plastic retainers-holders to keep them in alignment. Have they fallen out of their retainers? Are the retainers broken? If this doesn't work then you probably need a new door actuator. Sit down before you find out how much those cost!!! LOL
Also check the torx screws (I think there are three of them) that attache the actuator to the door frame. Are they loose?
