 I know you know what I'm talking about. I know, because most of you dealt with it. I am talking of course about the squeaking! My girl gets in my truck yesterday night, driving to our favorite restaurant, she's telling me about her day, all of a sudden lets out a scream that made me swerve, thinking I was about to hit something! I get my truck back into my lane, heart racing, I wave an apology to the guy passing me and when I get my mind back in the truck I make sense of what she's yabbering about, THE SQUEAKING! She's going on about this squeaking as if she's still telling me about her day, as if I didn't have to swallow my heart just a moment ago. Now she won't get in the truck until I fix it, meaning I have to drive her around in HER car. An old Mercury Disable. I swear she just- I know this is a very common problem, and I know theres a solution to it, I just got used to the squeak and block it out so I never bothered to fix it. Anyone know how to fix the problem? OTHER than getting rid of one girl to stay with the other. ;)

Are you talking about the body squeaks??? If you are the most common one's are from the tall gate and and doors from worn bushings and strikers.

You can try spraying them with with graphite and see if the squeaks go away. Good luck and keep us posted and other area's would be the shock bushings being warn also, easy to replace the bushings also.

Keep us posted. ;)

Yea the sound comes from the tailgate, I replaced the hinge bushings already. I'll see about squashing the sound before I have to drive anything else. Thanks again dude!

When i say the strikers, i mean the one on the glass that locks on to the tail gate in the center. Good luck and keep us posted. ;)

Hi guys,
I get that squeaky visit monthly and its not something that Tampax can fix.
I find mine comes from more than 1 place. One is the hinge on the spare tire door. One is the latch on the tailgate holding said tire door {the rolling sleeve over the support rod gets dry} and the other is the latch for the glass on the tailgate. I keep a small tube of WD40 in the glove box when it arrives whilst on the road. When it comes, I IMMEDIATELY pull over where ever I am to take a Midol. Man the squeak is annoying!
At home I usually graphite all points regularly.
