my front passenger door wont open from inside

I have an '04 Envoy XL. last night when we arrived home, the power locks unlocked but the front passenger door would not open. We locked and unlocked the door several times using both the FOB and the switch on the door to no avail. I am able to open the door from the outside but not the inside. Does anyone have an idea to what is causing this.

Does it have a child safety lock on the door frame. I had one get flipped once without knowing it and didn't think to check it first.
