I have a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 4.8 L V8 and every so often I smell gasoline in the cab, then the smell goes away. The truck has low miles, only 38k on the odometer, and there’s no indication of any engine problems and no check engine light. Any ideas what the problem could be? Clogged fuel filter, gas leak, evap canister?

check your fuel lines under the box, mine did the same at 138,000 km and the line coming out of the fuel pump was rotted, washed the underneath pretty good but it didn't wash the rust off, mine is 2009 GMC Z package short box, extended cab 4x4

I had the same gas leak as Old Foggie describes above. The rusted fuel line was
seeping gasoline , just over the gas tank. I paid about $1100 to have all of the gas lines replaced , which also included replacing the noisy in-tank fuel pump and gas gauge sending unit. The gas lines rusted through at about the same rate as did the brake lines. ( $800 for the brake lines replacement).

thanks for the bad news, I did a rust patch behind drivers side rear wheel well, bottom of the passenger door, fuel pump because the line out of it rotted off, bottom of rear door on drivers side needs done but I haven't done brake lines or transmission lines yet, mine is 2009 with 138,000 km, up until now I only had praise for GM but alas, nothing lasts forever

My gas lines that run over the bellhousing were leaking
