need help asap

ok i have a 1999 gmc jimmy sl, and i recently changed my heater core, now its winter and i turned on my heat yesterday and it blew a fuse, so i put a new fuse in and it just blew it again, and now my aftermarket deck wont turn on, so i put in a bigger fuse and my heater blows heat at full power even when turned off, and it runs for about 20 secconds after i turn my vehicle off with my doors open, and now its starting to blow and stop blowing heat randomly, any help would be greatly appreicated, an the fuses in my aftermarket deck are good and the wiring is good from what i can see

I would suggest that when u were re-installing the dash after having c/o htr core that u may have pinched a wire to ground. When this wire grounded that will cause the fuse to go open. You could have also caused the insulation to melt on other wires beside the wire that is grounded.

This would be why when you put a bigger fuse in now you are getting erratic results.

IMO -
Blown fuse means hot is grounding out .
Fan on ,then off , then on , then off = loose / bad connection ,
short in wire or bad switch .

Stereo -check ground wire , then verify that you have power AT the unit itself.
If not ,then trace back till you do , problem lies between 2 points.

Fan staying on after key turned off - as far as I know , you shouldn't have any power
past the ignition switch when key is off .
Can't say for sure if this related to other problems or is separate issue.

Common for the heater switch to melt and go bad and also the Blower resistor wire harness causing a short in the system. Start with inspecting the switch and blower resistor wire harness. replace any components that are damaged.

ok so i have a 30 amp fuse in there for my heater, and it seems to work ok, i dissconected my negative battery terminal and the pulsing of the fan has stopped for now, but ive checked the wires for my aftermarket deck and they all seem to be fine. it seems as when the deck isnt working the fan works fine, but when there both on together it blow the fuse
