Here's a rundown... The truck is a 1985 GMC Sierra/C-15. The engine is an 350-LT1 that I believe is out of a 1995 Camaro. The transmission has an electronic-only speed sensor (VSS), and the original mechanical gauges are still in the truck. Does anyone make a speedometer that wires into the computer or something without utilizing a speedometer cable, and if so, how would I install it? Also, I have an aftermarket speed sensor that has a shaft that is somehow supposed to connect to the transmission's output shaft, as well as the computer's VSS wiring harness connector. Problem is, the speed sensor that is in the trans. now (factory) doesn't use a gear, only magnets or something, so I can't figure out how the new sensor is supposed to be spun by the output shaft. Maybe a screw-drive gear or something? Please help, this has become extremely frustrating! Thank you!
