I have a 1992 gmc jimmy s15. 4x4 with the 4.3L motor in it, i am getting not bad gas millage but could be better, it seems to burn alot of gasoline lately, how can i improve the gas millage? what do i need to replace and has anyone ever ran a k & n air filter in these trucks before?

i have a 99 gmc jimmy with a 4.3 4x4 2 door an i find its easier to buy a chome cold air intake with a k&n air filter off ebay for like $40, also i use to get 270 kms/tank highway then my fuel pump went so i changed it and now i can get anywhere from 400-500 kms/ tank highway, try cleaning you map sensor too, that seem to help me a bit for power and gas mileage

Clean your throttle body and replace your fuel filter with your air filter. Also being a 1992, replace your MAP sensor and this should help you get better gas mileage and performance. ;)

Would not hurt also to give the jimmy a http://www.seafoamsales.com/ treatment. http://gmcowners.com/gmc-forum/showthread.php?t=13770

Good luck and keep us posted. :D

So I used throttle body cleaner, got a little more horse and one more day of driving which usually is about 150 km more, thanks for helping,
