need mechanical help on 2000 GMC Jimmy?

Need to know what the problem may be before I shell out hundreds on a mechanic....
engine is overheating, leaking water from somewhere (unknown)
all hoses are intact are far as I can see.
Radiator has water and so does resovior(spelling)

Might be your water pump. I had a 02 GMC Sierra with a 4.3L V-6. Probably what you have in your Jimmy. Anyways the seal around the pump went bad and caused me to leak coolant. I couldn't tell you what you are going to pay for the repair. I never got mine fixed. Just kept adding coolant until I got rid of the truck. Easy way to tell if its your water pump look under the truck. If you have the six cylinder it will be towards the front of the engine on the bottom.
